Yuvraj Singh is an Indian International Cricketer. He is a Left-handed batsman and all-rounder. The father of Yuvraj Singh is also a former Indian fast bowler.

He is from the hometown of Chandigarh, India. Yuvraj Singh started his career in cricket at the age of 13. He played in under-16 against the Jammu and Kashmir team.

Statistics

Domestic Career

Yuvraj’s performance well recognized during the under 19 matches, in which he scored 137 runs against Himachal Pradesh team.

For his performance, he selected in the Punjab team against the Orissa in 1997 Ranji Trophy. But, Yuvraj dismissed without scoring any runs. In later of Cooch Behar Trophy matches, Yuvraj performed very well by scoring overall 358 runs.

Then Yuvraj continued his consistency in his batting by scoring 89 runs against Srilanka in under-19, and 149 runs against Haryana in Ranji Trophy.

In under-19 2000 world cup, the captaincy of Mohammed Kaif and the play of Yuvraj helped in winning the cup. This game earned a place for Yuvraj in National Cricket Academy.

International Career

After joining in the National Cricket Academy, Yuvraj selected for the 2000 ICC KnockOut Trophy team. He played his first match against Kenya, in which he didn’t bat but bowled four overs.

Yuvraj gave a chance to bat against Australia in quarterfinals which he scored 84 runs which helped to win the match by 20 runs and also awarded as a Man of the Match.

Later in 2000 Coca-Cola cup against Sri Lanka, he scored 98 runs which proved Yuvraj batting skills. Also, For the overall five matches, Yuvraj Singh has taken eight wickets with an average of 28.

Later, Yuvraj played poorly by scoring only 69 runs in triangular series from 6 innings. After this Yuvraj along with few players selected for the home series.

In Duleep Trophy of North zone against South Zone, Yuvraj Singh showed his best performance by scoring 209 runs. This game made a significant impact by selecting Yuvraj Singh again in the ODI match against Zimbabwe.

In overall of five-match series, Yuvraj played every match is an impressive manner by scoring great runs and taking wicket. Notably, in the Final ODI, the partnership of Yuvraj and Mongia made 159 runs which helped India to win the match and also the series by 3-2.

In the subsequent matches with England, Yuvraj showed his consistency by scoring helpful runs that improved in the victory.

Another notable match of Yuvraj is the partnership with Rahul Dravid in chasing the 188 runs against Sri Lanka. Later the Striking partnership of Yuvraj and Kaif of 121 runs helped in winning the match against England, although Yuvraj dismissed at 69 runs.

In 2003, Yuvraj had some ups and down in his batting, but returned to excellent form at the end of 2004.

Yuvraj Singh has played more than 304 ODI matches, and 40 test matches were having a total score of 10,601 runs.

Vice-Captaincy

Yuvraj Singh selected as the Vice-captain for T20 match against South Africa. In one of the T20 games against England, Yuvraj Singh created a record of 6 sixes in six balls. Also, he made the fastest fifty from 12 deliveries.

In subsequent games, Yuvraj played a perfect batting style and maintained his form.

World Cup

From the starting, Yuvraj played efficiently and won the Man of the Match at the end of the game. Also, Yuvraj is the first all-rounder to score more than 300 runs and 15 wickets in single world cup matches.

IPL Matches

Yuvraj Singh is the Captain of Kings XI Punjab team for 2 seasons. Later, he played for Royal Challengers Bangalore, Delhi Daredevils, and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
