Virender Sehwag is a former Indian International Cricketer and a right-handed batsman and right-arm off break bowler. Sehwag is widely known for his aggressive batting in cricket.
Since the early age Sehwag started playing cricket, but due to some family issues, he didn’t have an opportunity to show the performance.
Virender Sehwag started playing as a first-class cricket player in Delhi cricket team which he showed an excellent performance. For his best playing, Sehwag got selected in the North zone where he scored well and ending as a fifth most top run scorer. Few notable scores while playing in Northern Zone are 274 runs from the 327 deliveries and 187 runs from 175 balls.
Sehwag beautiful playing earned a place in U-19 team which he scored two centuries against South African team. Later, he got selected in the national team.
Virender Sehwag played his first ODI match against Pakistan on April 1999. Later, he played the first test match on November 2001 against South Africa. For his best performance against Australia by scoring a half-century, Sehwag awarded as the man of the match.
Sehwag performed fine and scored his first ODI maiden century of 100 runs from 70 balls against New Zealand in August 2001. Sehwag scored the first maiden test century of 105 runs against South Africa in November 2001. Also, he earned a place in the middle order in the squad.
Later in 2002 a match against Kenya, Sehwag created a record of the second Indian to score the fastest half-century from just 22 deliveries. Also, in a game against England, he showed the right play by winning the match.
Sehwag great playing continued against the West Indies, England, and South Africa which he scored more runs and led the Indian team for victory.
In 2003 world cup finals, Virender Sehwag scored 82 runs from 81 balls although Australia won the game. After the end of the World cup, a match against New Zealand Sehwag awarded as a man of the match for scoring 130 and partnership of 182 runs with Sachin helped the great win for India.
Furthermore, in most of the games Sehwag played, he showed an aggressive batting style. Though, he didn’t maintain the consistency in scoring runs.
Not only in the ODI games, but also in the test games, Sehwag showed his skills. In a Test series against Pakistan, he scored 544 runs with average 90.66 and awarded as the man of the series. Sehwag continued the consistency in test cricket and had the highest score of 319 runs from 304 balls against South Africa.
Virender Sehwag has played more than 104 Test games and 251 ODI matches. In the batting career, Sehwag has scored entirely 16,856 runs from both test and ODI matches.
In ODI cricket, Sehwag had the High score of 219 runs from just 149 deliveries against West Indies. Not only in international cricket, but Sehwag has also played well Domestics like IPL. In IPL, he played first as captain for Delhi Daredevils and later for Kings XI Punjab.
Sehwag announced his retirement in forms of international cricket in October 2015.
